INVEST IN THE ARTISTS #1: A Subscriber's Testimonial

It’s been fifteen years since the Saturday night when, lacking anything else to do, we decided to show up at something called the PlayGround Festival at the time presented at the tiny Traveling Jewish Theatre in San Francisco.  I fell in love with the quirky humor, the inventive staging, and most of all the excitement of watching the best Bay Area actors in plays that were always gems, sometimes polished, occasionally rough, always fun. I became a regular at the Monday night staged readings, even though the trip from Oakland to Potrero hill was a schlep. Now it’s easy to get to the Berkeley Rep for the monthly shows, but I subscribe in order to be sure to get a good seat.  The playwrights and actors I’ve been following for years are now local luminaries and I’m proud of my tiny part in spreading the word about this great theatre group. Join me in supporting PlayGround's 20th Season INVEST IN THE ARTISTS who make it all possible!
